How Mosquito Control Works

Mosquitoes can be described as nothing less than a problematic pest. The first problem with mosquitoes is that they bite, well the females bite. Female mosquitoes require a blood meal in order to get the necessary proteins she needs to create her eggs. The female uses her specially designed mouthparts to bite through the skin of her victim and then uses her long nose to suck up the blood. After being bitten her victim is usually left with a red, itchy bump that in the cases of some people can become quite swollen and unsightly.

The second problem with mosquitoes is the diseases that they can spread to both people and animals because of the female’s feeding habits. The diseases that they can spread, if not prevented against or treated for, can lead to serious health consequences for their victims. Mosquitoes are known for spreading many diseases including the Zika virus, encephalitis, the West Nile virus, and are known for commonly infecting our beloved pets with the potentially fatal canine heartworm.

The third problem with mosquitoes is that you just can’t seem to get away from them, they are found almost everywhere! And while this is true, there are effective ways to reduce their numbers on your property; allowing you and your family to enjoy spending time in your yard once again. Don’t spend another year trapped inside fearing mosquitoes, their bites, and diseases; work with the professionals here at Modern Pest Control and put into place a mosquito reduction program that meets your property’s exact needs!

At Modern Pest Control we offer three different mosquito control programs.

Seasonal Mosquito Protection

During their active season, from April through October, our trained technicians perform regular mosquito treatments on your property to reduce the numbers of adult mosquitoes. The treatment also helps to prevent mosquito larvae from hatching and developing into more pesky adults.

Mosquito Misting System

Through the professional installation of the CoastMister we can provide year-round, long-term control against mosquito populations on your property. The CoastMister automatically delivers a mist that is specifically designed to protect specific zones found around your property. In most cases, misting occurs one to four times daily for 30 – 60 seconds each time. Additional benefits include being trained to have the option of making additional applications using a remote control if necessary and having our professionals provide regular service visits to maintain the equipment and refill product.

One-Time Mosquito Treatment

Our one-time treatment is the perfect way to reduce mosquito activity before a large outdoor event. Treatment is provided 24-48 hours before your event!

Don’t let mosquitoes control you and your family for another summer. Put into place a professional mosquito reduction service today and limit the numbers of mosquitoes found on your property.
